Currently, Joy practices at China Acupuncture in Westford, MA and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. She also holds a teaching appointment at New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) in Watertown, MA and is an Associate Professor and a clinic supervisor at the school. Joy is a research member of "NESA - Harvard Acupuncture Research Collaborative" project, a joint project funded by NCCAM, NIH and conducted in Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women's Hospital. Before founding China Acupuncture, she worked as an Acupuncturist at Brigham & Women's Hospital/Spence Center in Cambridge, MA. Joy was a Senior Editor of New England Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine when it was published. Before came to the US from China, she had practiced for 10 years as a Traditional Chinese Medical Physician in Charge at Hebei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and, in the meantime, taught at Hebei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Joy received her medical degree from Hebei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (China) in 1984 after 5 years intensive studying and training in Acupuncture and herbal medicine. She also attended a one-year "Advanced Doctor Training Class" for advanced studies at China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing in 1986. Joy is board-licensed in Acupuncture, Diplomate in Acupuncture of the NCCA (National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncturists) and Diplomate in Chinese Herbology of the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine).
